  5. i have some thoughts:

Anderson Valley Booneville Pale Ale - i remember liking this, but it paled in comparison to the Hop Ottin and some other philly beers i tasted near the same time. i do remember thinking that i would like a six pack of this to sip on for a night or two. i look forward to the beer club collective review.

Dogfish Head Raison D'Etre - had a sample of this. dogfish head should be praised for their ambition, not necessarily the results of the ambition. i remember that the complexity of this was too much for a tiny sample, and it did not move me enough to pay 10 bucks a four pack to resample in larger quantities.

Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale - i have long wanted to try this. seth haines convinced me of the glorious riches to be found in brown ales. since dogfish head takes a leap off every pallatable cliff, i'm anxious to know how far they toss the caramels and nuts in a brown ale. the "indian" bit there in the title, does that indicate double-up hops? there are some beers that do not need huge hoppage. brown ales might be one.

Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA - i have a love/hate relationship with this beer. the local fox and hound has 90 Minute on tap, and they have their taps running at 2 bucks a draw every thursday. the selection at the fox and hound is lacking, and i always feel that i need to do something more adventurous than miller lite on pint nite. so i do the 90 Minute often. i think it's the enormity of the malty biscuits in this overly hopped ale that throws me off at times. there is zero balance here: the onslaught hits hard all over. this is a demanding beer. i go back and forth on my opinion of this. and my comment here was gratuitously long.

i will exercise brevity from here on out.

Great Divide Hibernation Ale - love it. my favorite winter beer last year. made me mindful of barleywine. great stuff.

Avery 14'er ESB - forgettable. not much to remember here. avery is a hit or miss brewery.

  7. I've had Anderson Valley IPA and then I had it again...and again...I liked it a lot. Nice and smooth, but plenty of hop flavor.
